Why Do We Like ‘Difficult’ Music?
Wines can be easy-drinking jam bombs, or they can be more interesting—perhaps even difficult to appreciate. The same is true of music. We may prefer familiar, easy jams while exercising or driving, but sometimes enjoy being challenged by new music that subverts our expectations. In this short and engaging talk, music theorist Brad Osborn will play several examples of such difficult music, and provide a few tasting notes to better understand how (and why) we might appreciate it.

What is Vino Veritas?

Each month, the East Lawrence Wine Academy & Tasting Room will host at least one Vino Veritas evening. Each Veritas will feature one or two guests offering a mix of concerts, readings, and presentations on a varied landscape of topics. All Veritas evenings are free to attend and will include an hour of content as well as time for discussion, socializing, and whimsy.
