“A subtle wine with hints of strawberry, raspberry, and chocolate, and light touches of…(insert stupid words here)”. Let’s demystify talking about the flavors in a glass of wine. What are the common flavor profiles we find in wines and how can we talk about them without sounding like someone nobody wants to hang out with? This class will be sensory-focused and involve tasting multiple wines while also smelling actual flavors and elements that can be described. This class will focus on the primary flavors found in most wine: fruit, flowers, herbs, spices, and oak, with a brief discussion of the secondary and tertiary flavors that come from aging.
