JUDGMENT OF PARIS WINE TASTING AND CLASS

In 1976, the famous Judgment of Paris tasting was held in France, pitting the best California Cabernets and Chardonnays against their French counterparts from Bordeaux and Burgundy. This legendary event has been memorialized in movies (Bottle Shock) and recreated in tastings around the world. The wine world has grown exponentially in the decades since this tasting, and we will hold our own version of this tasting, featuring Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrahs from around the world—not just from the U.S. and France.

Wines will be served BLIND in 4-wine flights based on varietal. While some discussion of blind tasting and deduction will take place, the purpose of the ‘exercise’ will be to simply determine your favorite of the wines which will be chosen to highlight the tremendous purity and range of these classic grapes as they are found around the world. Small snacks will be provided. Each flight will feature at least one wine from the U.S., one wine from the grapes’ homeland of France, and two wines that I am excited to put in the lineup! (12 wines will be tasted)
