The wines of Domenico Clerico are among the great wines of the world. This evening is a special opportunity to taste 4 vintages of Clerico’s single-vineyard and extremely special ‘Percristina’ Barolo – INCLUDING the 100 point offering from the 2000 vintage. In addition to the 4 selected wines, guests will enjoy a two course dining experience featuring Italian cheese & charcuterie, and either risotto or pasta (TBD). Bread and olive oil will also be provided.
The ‘Percristina’ Barolo from Domenico Clerico is a rare and special treat. Produced only in the best vintages, and aged at the the estate for a remarkable 7 years before release, the wine was first produced in 1995 in memory of Clerico’s daughter Cristina tragically passed at a young age. In the words of the winery, the Percristina Barolo is a wine ‘capable of challenging time.’
This tasting will begin with the 1997 and 1998 vintages, and will conclude with the 2000 and 2001 vintages. These are wines of profound expression and the 2000 vintage represents the single best and most memorable bottle of wine I have ever enjoyed. This will be an unforgettable experience for all!
A word on the cost: These wines are EXTREMELY rare and can be almost impossible to find. Each of these wines, if available at all, will retail between $150-$400+ per bottle.
